Flip this Build! - August 15, 16, and 17

Hello Builders!

This month we are doing something VERY different! We will be giving you a full perm build, and some full perm textures. Your goal is to make the build different, using ONLY the prims and textures given to you. You may twist them, cut them, resize them, torture them, and retexture them! You must use at least half of the total prims given to you, but do not add any prims to the prim count. (All prims will list the original creator, and we do check!) You can use the prims to create furnishings, plants, and decorations too.  You may use scripts, either those included with the build, or others.

For this competition no mesh will be allowed. You can use sculpt maps on the prims included in the build given to you.

We want to see you maximize your creativity, this should be a challenge that requires most of the time allotted for the competition. We are not looking for a simple retexturing or resizing, but a transformation from what you are given to the limits of your imagination. This build may be a home, a store, a factory, a club, etc. It should be built to the "standard" avatar measurements (with a little fudging allowed for camera controls.)

The building package will be rezzed on the platform and available only to those registered. It will include the build, textures, and a builder's tape measure (and perhaps some other building tools that we get donated between now and the competition).

If you want to participate, you must register and have all the right tags by Thursday, August 14th at 6pm SLT, as I will not be available on Friday to facilitate that (due to RL obligations). If you don't know what the right tags are, don't hesitate to ask another B2B member, DanielRockport, or Jolie Serendipity.

Mondrian/Johnson Building Competition Scoring

Thank you for participating in our competition! Now for the fun! Visit each of the builds in the competition and score each one using the scorecard in the link below.

Remember this scorecard is for the competition participants and certain people who have been invited by either Daniel or Jolie. All others should vote using the People's Choice vote board on the platform.

All scores are tabulated using a spreadsheet. Your comments will be sent to each other anonymously after the winners are announced. Please try to keep your comments positive and helpful.

You will be asked for a code, it can be any 4 numbers of your choice.

CLICK HERE FOR THE SCORECARD LINK

Please consider making a donation to the competition fund located at the plaza on the platform. Bring in your friends and building acquaintances too, as we will have a "People's Choice" voting board there too. We appreciate every donation, it is your kindness that allows the competitions to continue.

Welcome Builders!

Yay, we are back!!

I hope you've been sharpening your saws and polishing your prims, because this competition is going to be a*w*e*s*o*m*e!

The theme is: Art in Architecture, you are going to create a building that is a mash up of two icons, one a famous architect and one a famous artist.

The Architect is Phillip Johnson (click for inspiration and ideas!)

The Artist is: Piet Mondrian (click for inspiration and ideas!)

Your building can have any function, it can be a home, a store, a restaurant, an office, etc. It must fit on your lot, and be no more than 3 stories (30 m) high. It must reflect both the style and form of both the architect and the artist. You are not looking to copy their work, but interpret it in your own design.

Start Date: July 11, 2014, 8:00 am SLT
End Date: July 13, 2014, 6pm SLT
Location: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Little%20Blue%20Island/136/177/1704 (The platform will not be open until July 11)
